Rohit Sharma has been unavailable for the last few matches due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the home loss against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 12. In his absence, MI have struggled to fill the void at the top, with various combinations among the likes of Quinton de Kock, Ryan Rickelton, and Danish Malewar already tested out, but with minimal success.

According to the latest update, the decision regarding Rohit Sharma's inclusion in the playing XI will be taken on matchday.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are a franchise against whom Rohit Sharma has occasionally struggled. Out of all the teams he has played against in the IPL, the Hitman has the third-lowest average against the Orange Army, behind the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Mumbai Indians (MI).

In 25 outings, he has scored 535 runs at an average of 24.32 and a strike rate of 136.13. It was not until IPL 2017 that he recorded his first fifty against them, and he has only scored two more since then.
